Next generation processor making company Microchip Technology Inc has been awarded with $50 million contract.

This company produces 3 bit embedded microcontrollers and arm based systems.

This will supply the HPSC (High Performance Space Computer) processor within three years.

The microchip company will make a significant contribution to R&D under the agreement.

Company said that we are delighted that NASA has chosen us as a partner to develop the next generation space qualified processor platform.

The new processor will provide the necessary advancement in performance, fault tolerance, etc.

This will provide at least 100 times the computing power of today's spaceflight computers.
